The beautiful region of Wachau is situated in the
province of Lower Austria directly on the river Danube.
This landscape on the world famous Danube was declared part of “World Heritage” in 1972 by UNESCO and then in 1998 was declared part of “World cultural Heritage” along with the
„Ghega – train“ crossing the Semmering – the second jewel of the region. The Wachau is known, first and foremost, for its wines, delicious fruits
and traditional cuisine. The many vineyards,
“Heurigen”, wine estates and open air wine inns attract visitors from all over the world to the region. |
